Cosmetology Program
(1600 hours/50 units)
The Cosmetology Program requires 1600 clock-hours of instruction and is comprised of five levels (courses). Levels One and Two consist of 11 units per level. Level Three consists of 10 units. Levels Four and Five consist of 9 units per level. With good attendance, the day program may be completed in approximately 1 year (8-weeks per level); the day program hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The evening program may be completed in 2 ½ years (16-weeks per level); evening program hours are Monday thru Thursday from 5:00 – 10:30 p.m. There is no summer session available for the evening program.
LISTED BELOW ARE START AND END DATES FOR SUMMER 2025. CLASSES WILL BE CONDUCTED ON CAMPUS IN PERSON/FACE-TO-FACE.

GETTTING STARTED: Future Cosmetology Student
Follow these steps to enroll at Fullerton College as a Cosmetology student.
Step 1: Apply online to become a Fullerton College student
Apply online to become a student at Fullerton College. Once you apply, the Admissions and Records office will email you a time and date to register for classes. Any questions regarding applying to the college, submit online to Admissions and Records or start a Live Chat. You may also call the office at (714) 992-7075.
Step 2: Register for COSM 055AF Level One
Register for COSM 055AF Level One for either the day or evening course. Enrollment is subject to availability.
Upon registration, if the class is already full, we highly recommend that you put your name on the waiting list via myGateway at mg.nocccd.edu/cp/home/displaylogin.
Step 3: Apply for financial aid (if applicable)
Students seeking financial aid apply at fafsa.ed.gov or call (714) 888-7588 so that the funds will be available to purchase textbooks and kits that are REQUIRED the first week of class.
Step 4: Attend orientation
Attend the orientation meeting that will help guide and prepare you towards a successful first day.

Step 5: Purchase the required KIT and BOOKS

EXPENSES:
- Current Books: $ 644.00 (plus tax) – Pivot Point textbook bundle with LAB access Purchase from the campus bookstore https://www.bkstr.com/fullertonstore
- Current Lab Kit (purchase online from Jazz-Z Beauty Products at jzbeauty.com):
- Module 1 – $1,100.00 (plus tax) *To be paid before 1st day of class
- Module 2 – $1,425.00 (plus tax) *To be paid two weeks prior the end of Level 1
- Other Expenses: Approximately $600.00 for materials will be needed during the 1600-hour program
- Enrollment Fee: $46.00 per unit
- Parking Fee: Optional – $20.00 automobiles for summer term
- Students must have a valid parking permit to park at Fullerton College throughout the semester.
- Health Fee: Mandatory – $22.00 for summer term
- Uniform: Mandatory – Uniform and closed-toe shoes (black scrub pant, a black scrub shirt and 100% black leather or imitation leather shoes are required for classroom instruction only) must be approved by the Cosmetology Department prior to purchase
NOTE: The Level One Lead Instructor will review the class syllabus and expectations the first day of class. A copy of the receipts for textbooks and kit purchases must be provided to the lead instructor first week of school. Please refer to the Level One class calendar.
